CAMDEN, N.J. (Sept. 12, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden men's tennis team opened its season here Friday with a sweep over Penn State-Brandywine, 7-0.
Brandywine was forced to forfeit matches at third doubles and the fifth and sixth singles spots due to a lack of players. Senior
Christopher Abacan and freshman
Isan Salamanca earned forfeit wins at the fifth and sixth singles, respectively, while also winning at third doubles.
In the top two doubles, freshman
Max Cabida and junior
Julian Pinder posted a 6-2 win at the first flight, while juniors
Mike Olsen and
John Brady notched a tight 7-5 win at second doubles.
Cabida swept his match at first singles, 6-0, 6-0, while Pinder outlasted his opponent at second singles, 5-7, 6-2, 13-11. Olsen earned a close 7-5, 7-5 win at third singles and Brady captured a victory at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-2.
The Scarlet Raptors' busy stretch continues this weekend when it plays in the King's College Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
