Delaware Valley women outlast Rutgers-Camden, 2-1

DOYLESTOWN, Penn. (Sept. 24, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team had commanding leads in every key statistic but the most important one here Wednesday.

As a result, the Scarlet Raptors lost a non-conference road game at Delaware Valley University, 2-1.

The Scarlet Raptors stand at 1-3-4, while the Aggies improve to 5-8.

Rutgers-Camden outshot Delaware Valley, 22-6, and held an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks. The Raptors held a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal, yet it was the Aggies who scored two first-half goals and held on for the win.

Midway through the opening half, Delaware Valley countered with a breakaway after a Scarlet Raptor corner kick. Raptor junior goalie Jordana Fredo came out of the net to try to stop the break, but sophomore midfielder Jarleny Aguilar-Acuna was able to break free and shoot into an empty net at 25:23.

Nine minutes later, the Aggies added what proved to be the winning goal, which was credited to sophomore forward Marissa Rogers on what easily could have been scored an own goal.

Rutgers-Camden outshot Delaware Valley, 15-2, in the second half, but couldn't break the Aggies' shutout bid until there was 10:15 remaining in the game. Junior forward Brianne Reeves tallied her second goal of the season on a high shot to the center of the net, assisted by junior midfielder Sandy Ritter.

Fredo finished with two saves for the Scarlet Raptors, while senior Nicole Ocejo had eight saves in the Delaware Valley goal.

The Scarlet Raptors open New Jersey Athletic play on Saturday with a 7 p.m. game at Ramapo College.
