NEWARK, N.J. (Jan. 21, 2026) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's basketball team produced three double-doubles as it rolled past Rutgers University-Newark, 87-54, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Wednesday night.
Rutgers-Camden improved to 9-8 overall and 6-4 in the NJAC, while Rutgers-Newark fell to 2-15 overall and 0-10 in the conference with its 12th straight loss.
Newark leads the all-time series, 45-38, but Rutgers-Camden has won the last four meetings, including a 69-44 victory in Camden on Nov. 25.
The two teams battled to a 7-7 deadlock before Rutgers-Camden closed out the quarter with a 9-1 run in the last four minutes to take a 16-8 lead. The run was sparked by a jumper from junior guard/forward
Tamea El, putting the Scarlet Raptors ahead to stay. Freshman guard
Tamyia Collier led the Scarlet Raptors with six first-quarter points.
The Scarlet Raptors kept the pressure on in the second quarter, going on a 22-10 run to grab a 38-18 lead at halftime. By halftime, Collier had 12 points and sophomore forward
Courtney Edmundo scored eight. Both players also had seven first-half rebounds, while El led the Raptors with nine boards, while adding seven points.
Sophomore guard Nicole Timario had 10 first-half points for Rutgers-Newark.
By the end of the third quarter, both Collier and El had double-doubles and Edmundo was one rebound shy of that accomplishment. The Scarlet Raptors led, 60-38, entering the final frame.
El finished with a career-high 24 points, while adding a game-high 14 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Collier posted her first career double-double with 16 points and a career-high 13 rebounds, while Edmundo notched her third straight double-double and eighth overall this season, collecting 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Mya Patino added 10 points and tied her career high with four assists, while sophomore guard
Hope Goodwine dished off a game-high six assists.
Timario led the Scarlet Raiders with 19 points and senior guard Quanajah Felder added 13. Senior guard Sanaa Brodie had a team-high 10 rebounds.
Rutgers-Camden held a 60-38 advantage off the boards, shot 34-for-73 (46.6 percent) from the floor and 11-for-14 (78.6) from the foul line. Rutgers-Newark went 18-for-72 (25.0) from the floor and 11-for-21 (52.4) from the foul line.
Rutgers-Camden returns to NJAC action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. NJAC home game against Ramapo College.
