Raptor women win regular-season finale heading into NJAC playoffs

CAMDEN, N.J. (Feb. 18, 2026) – The celebration had already started at Rutgers University-Camden with the fourth annual Raptor Rally and the women's basketball team kept the momentum building.
 
Rutgers-Camden raced to a 35-8 lead midway through the second quarter and went on to defeat New Jersey City University, 86-59, in its final regular-season game here Wednesday night. The Scarlet Raptors improved to 13-12 overall and 10-8 in the NJAC with their most wins since the 2018-19 team went 15-11 overall and 10-8 in the conference.
 
Although it was the last regular-season game for the Raptors, their season is far from over. Rutgers-Camden will move into the NJAC playoffs, where it will visit Rowan University at 1 p.m. Saturday for a quarterfinal game.

New Jersey City, meanwhile, closed its season with a 9-16 overall record and a 7-11 mark in the NJAC after getting swept in the head-to-head season series by the Scarlet Raptors. Rutgers-Camden leads the all-time series, 41-35.
 
Rutgers-Camden never trailed in the game, scoring the first five points and building a 21-6 lead after one quarter. The Raptors increased their advantage to 27 points with four minutes left in the first half. Sophomore forward Courtney Edmundo scored 14 of those 35 points, while junior guard Gabby Toledo and junior guard/forward Tamea El both added six points in the opening run.
 
The Scarlet Raptors led, 42-24, at halftime and their lead never fell below 15 points (45-30) in the second half.
 
Edmundo finished with 25 points and added 12 rebounds for her 11th straight double-double and her 16th double-double of the season. El notched her fifth double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Hope Goodwine finished with 12 points and sophomore guard Mya Patino added 10. Toledo and senior guard Tireya Wyatt both added nine points.
 
Edmundo and Goodwine both dished off four assists, while freshman forward Zairra Galloway led the team with three steals.
 
Junior guard Na'tori Postell paced NJCU with 19 points and sophomore guard Meghan Gentile added 16. points and a team-high eight rebounds.
 
The Scarlet Raptors shot 28-for-65 from the floor (43.1 percent), including 9-for-29 (31.0) from three-point range. They shot 21-for-30 (70.0) from the foul line. Rutgers-Camden als0 held a 50-34 advantage off the boards.
 
NJCU shot 22-for-63 (34.9) from the floor, including 4-for-19 (21.1) from three-point range. The Gothic Knights hit 11 of their 15 free throw attempts (73.3).
