Raptor women top Rowan to move into NJAC semifinals

GLASSBORO, N.J. (Feb. 21, 2026) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's basketball team entered the New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs as the sixth and final seed, but the Scarlet Raptors proved here Saturday that they are going to be a tough out.

Rutgers-Camden raced to a 38-23 halftime lead and went on to eliminate third-seeded Rowan University, 69-55, in the NJAC quarterfinals. The Scarlet Raptors advance to Tuesday's semifinal matchup, when they will play a 7 p.m. game at at second-seeded The College of New Jersey.

Rutgers-Camden improved to 14-12, while Rowan fell to 16-10. The victory snapped the Raptors' 14-game losing streak against Rowan. Their last win in the series came in Camden on Jan. 24, 2018, by an 82-77 score.

The victory was the Scarlet Raptors' first win in the NJAC playoffs since March 1, 2003, when they captured their lone NJAC title with a 62-46 win at The College of New Jersey. In the years since then, Rutgers-Camden was 0-5 in NJAC playoff appearances, but the Scarlet Raptors flipped the story at Rowan.

Rutgers-Camden, which had lost to Rowan twice during the season, including one game in double overtime, led almost all the way. The Raptors took the lead for good midway through the opening quarter, 5-4, on the first of two straight free throws by sophomore forward Courtney Edmundo. Rutgers-Camden led, 18-15, after one quarter and opened up the game with a 20-8 second-quarter run to build a 15-point halftime lead. That lead never fell below double digits the rest of the way and led by as many as 27 points (53-26) in the second half.

Edmundo finished with a game-high 26 points and nine rebounds, while sophomore guard Hope Goodwine collected 14 points and a game-high four assists. Sophomore guard Mya Patino netted eight points and junior guard/forward Tamea El added eight rebounds and seven points, helping the Scarlet Raptors to a 43-33 advantage off the boards.

Senior guard Jes Mastriano scored 17 points for Rowan, while freshman guard Megan Donelson added 11.

Rutgers-Camden shot 22-for-62 from the floor (35.5 percent), including 8-for-24 (33.3) from three-point range. The Scarlet Raptors shot 17-for-25 from the foul line, including 9-for-10 by Edmundo.

Rowan shot 14-for-44 (31.8) from the floor and 27-for-41 (65.9) from the line.
