SWARTHMORE, Penn. (March 24, 2026) – The Rutgers University-Camden baseball team has returned to northern competition after a week in Florida, but that competition has only managed to increase in difficulty.
The Scarlet Raptors visited nationally-ranked Swarthmore College here on Tuesday and play at another nationally ranked team, Gettysburg College, on Wednesday. In Tuesday's game, the Garnet used two walks, an errant pickoff throw, three hits and a sacrifice fly to produce four runs in the third inning, on its way to a 7-1 victory.
It was the eighth straight win for Swarthmore, which is ranked #25 in this week's NCAA Div. III Top 30 Coaches' Poll and received 24 votes toward the D3baseball.com Top 25. The Garnet improved to 14-3, while the Scarlet Raptors fell to 8-8.
After its four-run outburst in the third inning, Swarthmore added three more runs in the fourth inning on a walk, three hits and an error. Senior right fielder Aidan Sullivan and sophomore first baseman Zac Kahn had RBI singles in both innings.

Jake Slusarski. He advanced on an errant pickoff throw and scored on a single by sophomore right fielder
Gavin McCaffrey.
Slusarski went 3-for-4 with one run for the Scarlet Raptors, while McCaffrey was 2-for-4 with the lone RBI.
For the Garnet, Sullivan was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, while Kahn went 2-for-3 with one run and two RBIs.

Gabe McCracken (1-2) took the loss, working four innings and allowing three hits, four walks and four earned runs. He struck out two.
Swarthmore sophomore Aidan Tinker raised his record to 4-0, working seven shutout innings. He allowed five hits and one walk, while striking out five.
Rutgers-Camden faces another tough opponent on Wednesday when it travels to Gettysburg College for a 3:30 p.m. game. The Bullets are ranked number 21 in the latest D3baseball.com poll and received 60 votes toward the NCAA Div. III Coaches' Top 30 Poll.
