EWING, N.J. (March 31, 2026) – Junior Maya Knasiak and senior Elizabeth Gosse both pitched one-hit shutouts as The College of New Jersey softball team swept past Rutgers University-Camden, 12-0 and 5-0, here Tuesday in a pair of games shortened to five innings by the eight-run mercy rule.
The sweep leaves the Lions with a 15-7 record overall and a 4-0 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rutgers-Camden falls to 6-8 overall and 1-3 in the NJAC.
The Scarlet Raptors play another NJAC doubleheader on Saturday when they host Ramapo College at 1 p.m.
TCNJ 12, Rutgers-Camden 0
The Lions took a 3-0 lead over the first two innings, scoring a run in the first on two hits and a sacrifice fly by sophomore designated player Grace Brouillard, and plating two runs in the second inning. on a two-run single by senior right fielder Morgan Estelow.
TCNJ exploded for nine runs in the fourth inning on 10 hits and an error, including a two-run single by freshman third baseman Emily Evans and a two-run home run by junior winning pitcher Maya Knasiak.

Natalie D'Angelo. Milillo (1-4) took the loss, working 1.2 innings and allowing four hits and three earned runs.
The Scarlet Raptors collected only one hit off Knasiak, a double by junior third baseman
Alana Gannon in the first inning. Knasiak (10-1) walked one and struck out eight in her five-inning complete game.
TCNJ 8, Rutgers-Camden 0
The Lions scored five runs over the first two innings with only three hits, including a two-run single by Evans in a three-run second inning. They added a run in the fourth inning and ended the game on the eight-run rule by scoring twice in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Gosse (3-3) took care of the rest, allowing only one hit and two hit batsmen, while striking out three. The Raptors' lone hit was a bunt single with two outs in the fifth inning by freshman left fielder
Lilia Ortiz, who just joined the team over the weekend. It was the first collegiate hit for Ortiz, who earned her first Rutgers-Camden letter over the winter as a member of the women's basketball program.
Junior
Sammie Friel (3-4) hurled a complete game of 4.2 innings, allowing five hits and eight runs, only four earned. She walked three.
