CAMDEN, N.J. (April 11, 2026) – Entering New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Thursday afternoon, the Rutgers University-Camden baseball team was leading the NJAC with a 6-0 record.
Three days later, that record has fallen to 6-4 and the Scarlet Raptors are in a tie for fourth place with Kean.
The Scarlet Raptors' weekend, which started with home-and-away losses against Rowan University, continued here Saturday as they lost a doubleheader against Ramapo College, 13-3 and 10-0.
Ramapo improved to 20-8 overall and 7-3 in the conference. Rutgers-Camden fell to 14-15 overall.
Rutgers-Camden hosts Alvernia University in a 6 p.m. non-conference Senior Night game Tuesday.
Ramapo 13, Rutgers-Camden 3
The Roadrunners blew open a 4-3 game with eight runs in the seventh inning on seven hits and an error, with three of the hits never leaving the infield. Two of them were bunts, including one that was intended to be a sacrifice. Freshman shortstop Braden Schappert had a two-run single in the inning and sophomore first baseman Nick Pellegrino capped the frame with a solo home run.
Prior to that outburst, the game was a tight one, with Ramapo scoring twice in the second inning on four hits and the Scarlet Raptors getting a run in the third on a single by junior second baseman

Jake Slusarski.
Both teams scored a pair of runs in the fifth inning, with Dubler and Slusarski both collecting an RBI for the Scarlet Raptors.
Pellegrino, freshman center fielder Julian Schultz, senior third baseman Eric Knapp, sophomore catcher Zach Barbash and junior right fielder Brandon Tauber each had three hits for the Roadrunners to support graduate student John Hacker, the winning pitcher. Hacker (4-1) worked seven innings, allowing six hits, three runs (two earned) and one walk. He struck out six.

Anthony Angelo Jr. (1-1) took the loss, allowing four earned runs in 4.1 innings.
Dubler and Slusarski had two hits apiece in Rutgers-Camden's six-hit attack.
Ramapo 10, Rutgers-Camden 0
In the nightcap, Ramapo broke a scoreless deadlock with three runs in the fourth inning on three hits, a walk and an error to back freshman pitcher Thomas Schlaline, who tossed four-hit shutout baseball over eight innings. Schlaline (2-1) walked one and struck out six.
Ramapo's 13-hit attack was led by sophomore left fielder Julian Caruso, who went 3-for-5 at the top of the order. Knapp and Schappert added two hits apiece. Slusarski went 2-for-3 to account for half of the Scarlet Raptors' hits.
Freshman
Killian McCaffrey (0-3) worked 5.1 innings for Rutgers-Camden, allowing eight hits and six runs (five earned). He walked three and struck out four.
