Scarlet Raptor golfers fourth after first round of United East Championships
HARRISBURG, Penn. (April 24, 2026) – The Rutgers University-Camden golf team put itself in a tough spot after the first round of the United East Championships here Friday.
Although the Scarlet Raptors shot a fine round of 307, they found themselves sitting in fourth place in the eight-team event, 14 strokes behind the leader, Penn College, which shot a round of 293. Penn State-Harrisburg is second with a 297 and Lancaster Bible is third, one stroke ahead of the Scarlet Raptors, with a 306.
Dillon Yinger of Penn State-Harrisburg is the first-round leader with a 3-under par 69, three strokes ahead of a pair of players.
The championship is being held at the Par 72 Dauphin Highlands Golf Course.
Junior
Santino Leone is leading the Scarlet Raptors with a 1-over par 73, tied for fourth place among 39 golfers. Sophomore
Andrew Slattery shot a 74 to tie for seventh place after the first round, while senior
Pearse Lee was tied for 14th with a 4-over par 76.
Scarlet Raptor freshman
Nick Seaver carded a round of 84, tying for 29th place, and senior
Reid Walker had a first-round score of 85 to sit in 33rd place.
The United East Championships conclude on Saturday at the Dauphin Highlands Golf Course.
