Athlete Awards Athletes of the Week Choose Awards Type All Athlete Awards Athletes of the Week Frankie Romond Award Athletes of the Week Week Of 2/27/2023 Sport Baseball Bio View Full Bio Sophomore third baseman Frankie Romond kicked off the 2023 baseball season in a big way, going 3-for-5 with a double, two triples, three runs scored and six RBIs in an 18-4 win over Delaware Valley University Thursday night. Romond had eight total bases and also collected one putout and one assist in two total chances. His two triples, coming in back-to-back innings in the seventh and eighth, tied a program single-game mark for triples, shared by several players. His seventh-inning triple plated two runs and his eighth-inning triple cleared the bases. Last season as a freshman, Romond started 34 of his 39 games and led all Scarlet Raptor regulars with a .325 batting average.
