Box Score MAHWAH, N.J. – The Ramapo College men's basketball team built a 17-point lead late in the first half and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 78-66, here Wednesday night in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game.
The Roadrunners, who improve to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the NJAC, have won 17 straight games against Rutgers-Camden and hold a 43-12 all-time lead.
The Scarlet Raptors, whose only lead of the game came at 2-0, fall to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the NJAC with their second straight loss.
With the teams tied at 10-10, Ramapo went on a seven-point run to take the lead for good. The first three points of the run were scored by senior guard
Terry Hicks (Neptune, NJ/Neptune), who finished with 13 points to tie sophomore forward
Frank Nock (Bridgeton, NJ/Bridgeton) for the team high.
Ramapo built its lead to 43-26 late in the opening half before settling for a 43-31 halftime bulge. Rutgers-Camden managed to slice the lead to five points on three occasions in the second half, with the last coming at 65-60.

Loren Jackson (Eatontown, NJ/Monmouth Regional) notched a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman guard
George Sapp (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek) added 10 points.
The Roadrunners shot 28-for-64 (43.8 percent) from the floor, while the Scarlet Raptors were 20-for-54 (37.0). Ramapo also held a 43-37 advantage off the boards and forced 22 Rutgers-Camden turnovers.
The Scarlet Raptors received a team-high 16 points from junior guard/forward
Alex Smart (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek), while freshman guard
Marcus Taylor (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) added 15. Junior guard/forward
Teon Russell (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson) collected 14 points and 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.
Sophomore guard
Steven Schneider (Berlin, NJ/Eastern Regional) added eight points and senior forward
Robert Anders (Vero Beach, FL/Vero Beach) collected nine rebounds.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday when it hosts The College of New Jersey in a 3 p.m. NJAC game.
