Box Score CAMDEN, N.J. – The Kean University women's soccer team scored a pair of first-half goals off of corner kicks by senior back
Shannon Pedersen (Ewing, NJ/Notre Dame), including one with seven seconds remaining in the half, and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 3-0, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars improve to 5-3-1 overall and 2-1 in the NJAC, while the Scarlet Raptors fall to 3-5-1 and 1-2.
Kean leads the all-time series, 11-2-3 and has won the last three games by shutout margins.
The Cougars jumped on the board at 9:25 when a corner kick by Pedersen found the head of freshman forward
Jordyn Bronsky (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) stationed in the box. Bronsky headed home her second goal of the season and the first game-winning goal of her career.
The Cougars got an insurance goal – and a back-breaker – only seven seconds before the half when Pedersen's corner kick found sophomore
Angie Lopez (Rahway, NJ/Rahway) on the doorstep of the goal line to knock in her team-leading fifth goal.
Kean closed out the scoring at 84:03 when Lopez hit a high shot just under the crossbar from inside the box. It was assisted by junior
Sam Marchetti (Wall Township, NJ/Wall), who centered a pass in the box for Lopez.
The Cougars outshot the Scarlet Raptors, 15-6, and sophomore goalie
KC Nunez (Fair Lawn, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) made only one save to notch her third shutout of the season.
Rutgers-Camden split halves with senior goalies.
Lauren West (Mantua, NJ/Clearview Regional) made six saves and allowed two goals in the opening half, while
Leighanna Milby (Blackwood, NJ/Highland Regional) played the final 45 minutes, allowing one goal with no saves.

Kaitlyn Zuzulock (National Park, NJ/Gateway Regional) collected two of the Scarlet Raptors' six shots, while freshman forward
Mandi Noll (Blackwood, NJ/Triton Regional) had the one shot on goal.
Kean also held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Wednesday when they host national powerhouse The College of New Jersey in a 7 p.m. NJAC game. TCNJ is currently ranked No. 3 in the
D3soccer.com Top 25 and No. 4 in the NSCAA national poll.
The Cougars also play a NJAC game Wednesday night, hosting New Jersey City University at 7:30 p.m.
