Alex Smart (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek) hit a pair of foul shots with 11:50 remaining in the game, giving the Rutgers University-Camden men's basketball team the lead for good and sparking the Scarlet Raptors on a six-point run as they went on to defeat Moravian College, 64-49, in a non-conference game here Monday night.
The Scarlet Raptors improve to 3-11, snapping a five-game losing streak.
The Greyhounds fall to 6-7 with their second straight loss.
After Moravian took a 42-41 lead – its only lead of the night – on a layup by senior guard

Teon Russell (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson) tacked on a jumper to complete the Raptors' six-point run and give Rutgers-Camden a 47-42 lead.
Although the Greyhounds cut the gap to 48-46 with 7:29 remaining, Rutgers-Camden responded with a nine-point run to hike the lead to double digits (57-46). Freshman guard
Marcus Taylor (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling), who earlier in the day had been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, canned five points in the run.
Russell finished with a game-high 16 points and, for the second straight contest, missed a double-double by only one rebound. Russell, who already has six double-doubles this season, finished with a game-high nine rebounds. He also added three steals to tie for game-high honors, while contributing two assists.
Taylor finished with 10 points and a team-high four assists for the Scarlet Raptors, while Richardson had seven points, four rebounds and three assists. He also had three steals to tie Russell and Moravian's
Izel Dickerson (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) for game-high honors.

Moravian received 13 points and seven rebounds from senior center

Cameron Cullen (East Islip, NY/East Islip) added 12 points. Dickerson collected six rebounds and a game-high five assists, in addition to his three steals.
Rutgers-Camden shot 50.9 percent (28-for-55) from the floor, while Moravian shot 33.3 (15-for-45), including only 1-for-12 (8.3) from three-point range. The Greyhounds held a 33-30 advantage off the boards and made 21 turnovers to the Raptors' 17.
After shooting 13-for-17 from the foul line in the first half, Moravian went only 5-for-13 from the charity stripe the rest of the game.
Both teams return to action with conference games Wednesday. Moravian hosts Drew University in a Landmark Conference game at 7 p.m. Rutgers-Camden plays an 8 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference game at New Jersey City University.
