ASTON, Penn. (April 5, 2016) – Junior catcher
Jon Theckston (Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) ripped a game-tying single with one out in the top of the ninth inning and later scored the winning run on a pinch-hit sacrifice fly by senior
Billy Jackson (Estell Manor, NJ/Buena Regional) to lead the nationally-ranked Rutgers University-Camden baseball team to a big comeback victory over Neumann University, 5-4, here Tuesday afternoon.

The victory snapped a four-game losing streak for Rutgers-Camden, which is ranked No. 27 in the ABCA Division III Coaches' Poll and No. 25 in the

Trailing, 4-3, the Raptors opened the ninth inning with a single from junior rightfielder
Doug Carter Jr. (Union, NJ/Union), who was in the middle of rallies all afternoon. Carter was erased on a fielder's choice by junior centerfielder
Zach Ellin (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee), but Ellin advanced on a wild pitch before scoring on Theckston's game-tying single. Theckston advanced on the throw to home and went all the way to third when the throw was wild. He scored on Jackson's sacrifice fly.

Senior
Kyle Gaff (Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) nailed down the win with a 1-2-3 ninth inning, getting the final out on a called third strike to earn his first save of the season. It was the 12th save of his career, one behind the program record set by Matt Novella (2001-05).

Before the Scarlet Raptors rallied, they were in danger of losing their fifth straight game after building a 3-0 early lead. Neumann freshman designated hitter
Curt Yenchik (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) singled home the go-ahead run with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Knights grabbed a 4-3 lead. He plated junior rightfielder
Eric Bergman (Ridley, PA/Ridley), who opened the frame with a double and moved up on a one-out grounder.
