EWING, N.J. (Sept. 28, 2016) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team finally finished negotiating the nightmare portion of its schedule here Wednesday night, but the Scarlet Raptors ended on a tough note against one of the top programs in the nation.
The College of New Jersey out-shot Rutgers-Camden, 30-1, as it posted a 5-0 victory in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game.
TCNJ, which improves to 7-0-1 overall and 3-0 in the NJAC, is ranked No. 19 in the NSCAA Division IIII poll and No. 15 in the
D3soccer.com Top 25. The Lions have won six straight games since their only blemish, a tie at nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins. The last five have come by shutout margins, hiking their scoreless minute streak to 496:39.
Rutgers-Camden falls to 3-4-2 overall and 1-2 in the NJAC, with all four of its losses coming against Top 25 teams, including the last three against Johns Hopkins, Montclair State and TCNJ.

Arielle Curtis (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) scored off a feed from
Alexa Beatty (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East).

Despina Lianidis (Linwood, NJ/Mainland Regional) scored a pair of second-half goals at 72:00 and 86:41 to account for the final score.

Jessica Weeded (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) needed to make only one save to earn the shutout, stopping a first-half shot by Raptor senior

Rutgers-Camden junior keeper
Katie Gurba (Westampton, NJ/Holy Cross) collected a career-high 14 saves, tied for the seventh-highest single-game total in program history.
The Raptors return to NJAC action Saturday at 1 p.m. when they host Ramapo College.
