Montclair State has defeated Rutgers-Camden nine straight times and owns wins in 19 of its last 20 series games against the Scarlet Raptors. The Red Hawks lead the all-time series, 52-9, with the last Raptor win coming on Dec. 15, 2012, by a 69-59 score in Camden.

Rutgers-Camden held a 34-32 halftime lead behind nine points from junior guard Charlie Riccardi (Mullica Hill, NJ/St. Joseph-Hammonton) and eight from sophomore forward/center Isaac Destin (Woodlynne, NJ/Collingswood). Junior guard Vince Anfield (Mt. Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley) notched nine first-half points for the Red Hawks.

The final 20 minutes featured seven lead changes and a pair of tie scores as neither team managed more than a four-point lead most of the half. That margin occurred after the Raptors scored the first field goal of the second half, a layup by Destin, to take a 36-32 lead. With the Raptors clinging to a 49-48 margin, however, Montclair State senior guard Daniel Ramis (Miami, FL/Westwood Christian) nailed a three-pointer with 8:03 remaining. That gave the Red Hawks the lead for good, 51-49, and Anfield quickly added another trey to push the margin to 54-49.

Although the Raptors sliced the gap to 54-52 on a trey by junior guard Shafeek Taylor (Philadelphia, PA/Mathematics, Civics and Sciences), they never got closer the rest of the way. Montclair State led by as many as 10 points (66-56) near the end of the game.

Anfield led the Red Hawks with 17 points, including 5-for-8 shooting from three-point range. Senior forward Brandon Channer (Manchester, Jamaica/Strawberry Crest, FL) notched 15 points and sophomore forward Jordan Roberson (Union, NJ/Union) added 14, including 12 in the second half. Ramis finished with 11 points for the Red Hawks, who shot 24-for-59 (40.7 percent) from the field overall and 10-for-33 (30.3) from three-point range. Montclair also had a commanding 49-22 advantage off the boards, with Roberson and Channer notching 14 and 13, respectively, to both finish with double-doubles.

Destin collected 16 points and eight rebounds for Rutgers-Camden. Riccardi finished with 14 points for the Scarlet Raptors.

Junior guard Marcus Taylor (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) had two points to pass the 500-point milestone for his career. He will bring 501 career points into his senior season.
