Box Score CAMDEN, N.J. (Nov. 20, 2018) – Late in the first half of their New Jersey Athletic Conference opener here Tuesday night, it appeared that the Rutgers University-Camden men's basketball team was in for a long night.
The Scarlet Raptors, however, battled back into the game in the second half before falling to undefeated Rowan University, 86-75.
Rutgers-Camden falls to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC, while Rowan improves to 4-0 and 1-0. The Profs have won their last six games against the Scarlet Raptors and lead the all-time series, 95-32.
Rowan opened up leads as large as 23 points (40-17) in the first half before settling with a 44-24 advantage at the break. Senior guard Nick DePersia collected 13 points in the opening half on his way to a game-high 26 points.

Trai Greer leading the way, the Scarlet Raptors rallied in the second half to cut the Profs' lead to nine points on a pair of occasions (59-50 and 80-71). McCarthy had 13 of his career-high 19 points in the second half, including three of his five treys. Greer added 12 of his 16 points after the break. Sophomore guard

Adam Perry each scored nine points in the second-half run and finished with 11 and nine points, respectively, for the game.
Rowan shot 33-for-67 from the floor (49.3 percent) to Rutgers-Camden's 27-for-56 (48.2), but the Profs held a 40-34 advantage off the boards and made four fewer turnovers (20-16). Rutgers-Camden sophomore guard
Kyle Goodson Jr. notched a career-high 11 rebounds to take game-high honors. He added eight points and four assists.
In addition to Nick DePersia, the Profs received 14 points from Connor Dickerson and 10 from Austin Kearney. Nick's brother, Rob DePersia, scored eight points and tied Greer for game-high honors with six assists.
In addition to the double-digit scoring from McCarthy, Greer and Russell, the Raptors had nine points apiece from Perry and junior guard
Robbie Brosh.
Rutgers-Camden plays a non-conference game at Eastern University Monday night at 7 p.m.
