ROSEMONT, Penn. (Sept. 17, 2018) – After peppering the Rosemont College goal in the first half with nothing to show but a dominating performance in a scoreless tie, the Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team saw its pressure produce some rewards in the second half.
Rutgers-Camden scored a pair of second-half goals here Monday afternoon and went on to defeat Rosemont, 2-0, in a game where the Scarlet Raptors held a 25-4 advantage in shots. The Raptors had a 15-2 margin in shots on goal, while also leading in corner kicks, 8-2.
Rutgers-Camden improves to 3-3-1, including 2-1-1 in its last four games. Rosemont falls to 1-5.

Melissa Peel delivered a long pass to spring sophomore forward
Meghan Wachira. Wachira scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season inside the right post, past Rosemont keeper Emma Lindsay, at 52:20. It was her 17th career goal, tying for ninth place on the Rutgers-Camden career list with Jasmine Philip (1999-02). It also was her third game-winning goal of the season and 10th of her career, the third-highest career total in program history.
For Peel, it was her first assist of the season and the 12th of her stellar career. She led the team last season with seven assists.
Rutgers-Camden added an insurance goal at 70:55 with a pair of freshmen midfielders teaming up.

Raptor sophomore goalie
Kyrsten Piper made two saves to notch her first shutout of the season. Lindsay had 13 saves for the Ravens.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Wednesday when they host Cabrini University in a 7 p.m. non-conference game. The game also will serve as a fundraising effort to cure pediatric cancer through the
