Dobbins, Kustera spark Raptors at Moravian Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Penn. (Jan. 26, 2019) – Seniors Cameron Dobbins and Andrew Kustera combined for three ECAC qualifiers, with Dobbins winning two events, to lead the Rutgers University-Camden men's and women's track teams at the Moravian College Indoor Invitational Saturday.

The non-scoring meet was held at Lehigh University.

Dobbins blazed his way to wins in the 44-man field of the 60-meter dash (posting a 7.04 clocking) and the 200-meter dash's 42-man field (22.28). Both times were ECAC qualifiers.

Kustera, meanwhile, finished fourth in a field of 26 with a shot put of 15.20 meters, giving the Scarlet Raptors another ECAC qualifier. Kustera broke his own indoor program record of 14.88 meters, set Dec. 7 at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout.

The Rutgers-Camden men also saw senior Tom Meyer finish seventh in a field of 26 by posting a time of 8.93 in the men's 60-meter hurdles. Meyer also placed 22nd in the 200-meter dash (24.48), while freshman Desmond Howell placed 11th in the 200-meter dash (23.56) and was seventh out of 39 runners in the 400-meter dash (52.22). Sophomore Vinny Maine finished 28th in the 400-meter dash (55.22).

Kustera joined fellow senior Drew Harper with another strong performance by the men's throwers. While Kustera finished fourth in the shot put, Harper was 13th (13.12 M). In the 29-man field of the weight throw competition, meanwhile, Harper finished ninth (14.33 M). Kustera, pictured above in the hammer throw during outdoor season, finished 20th in the weight throw (12.48 M).

Senior Elijah Crouch placed 31st out of 45 in the men's 800-meter run (2:07.24).

Freshman Kayana Clue had a strong meet for the Rutgers-Camden women, finishing 16th out of 44 in the 60-meter dash (8.55) and 16th of 46 in the 200-meter dash (28.30). Freshman Kaila English, meanwhile, placed 30th in the 60-meter dash (8.85) and 40th at 200 meters (31.06).
