NEWARK, N.J. (Oct. 12, 2019) – The Rutgers University-Camden and Rutgers University-Newark men's soccer teams took turns trading leads and rallying back to force tie scores here Saturday night.

Patrick Grudnik provided the Scarlet Raptors with the only lead that mattered.
Grudnik notched the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute off a through ball by senior
Cristian Ognibene as the Scarlet Raptors edged the Scarlet Raiders, 3-2, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game.
The victory lifts Rutgers-Camden to 10-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the NJAC. Rutgers-Newark falls to 5-8-1 and 1-3-1. The Scarlet Raptors have now won the last two meetings between the teams and 10 of the last 11.
Newark scored the game's first goal at 21:58 when Juwan Ash tapped in a low cross from the left side by Kadir Karagoz. Senior
Darnell Brown tied the game at 28:01 with an unassisted tally for his third goal of the season, scoring to the left side of the net after winning a loose ball in the box.
Rutgers-Camden forged ahead, 2-1, in the 38th minute when sophomore
Parker Solowey headed home a restart by freshman
Enrique Sanchez. It was the first goal at Rutgers-Camden for Solowey, who transferred to the school after playing his freshman year at NJAC rival William Paterson University. He scored his first collegiate goal for the Pioneers last season. The assist was the third of the season for Sanchez.
Solowey's goal gave the Scarlet Raptors a 2-1 lead at halftime, but the home team tied the game only 4:34 into the second half, with Karagoz assisting Miguel Sencion.
Grudnik's winning goal came at 71:11 with a shot into the left side of the net off the assist from Ognibene. It was the second goal of the season for Grudnik and the second assist for Ognibene.
Rutgers-Newark held a 21-19 edge in shots and Rutgers-Camden had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks in the game.
Junior keeper
Kieran Burns made five saves to earn the victory, while Andres Medina had six saves in the Newark goal.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action with another NJAC game Wednesday. The Scarlet Raptors host Rowan University at 7 p.m.
