Shariq Khan continued his early-season success, but the Rutgers University-Camden men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Moravian College in a non-conference
Vincent Flores...teamed with Shariq Khan for win at third doubles
match here Saturday.
Moravian improves to 5-3, while Rutgers-Camden falls to 0-2.
Khan posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at sixth singles and teamed with freshman
Vincent Flores to earn an 8-2 victory at third doubles.
Khan,
pictured above, is now 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles while teaming with Flores.
The Scarlet Raptors lost close 8-5 decisions at both the top two doubles spots. Sophomore
Adney Cardoza and senior
Vatsal Patel played at first doubles for Rutgers-Camden, while sophomores
Matt Deak and
Jose Vargas formed the second doubles team.
Cardoza lost a 6-0, 6-3 decision at first singles, while Deak was defeated, 6-2, 6-1, at the second flight.
Freshman
Steven Zhang lost at third singles, 6-2, 6-0, and Patel dropped a 6-0, 7-6 (7-4) decision at fourth singles.
Vargas was defeated in the fifth singles spot, 6-3, 6-1.
The Scarlet Raptors are scheduled to play at Brooklyn College on Saturday, March 23.
