CAMDEN, N.J. (March 9, 2019) –Rutgers University-Camden sophomore
Shariq Khan captured wins at both third doubles and fifth singles, but the Scarlet Raptors lost their men's tennis season opener, 5-4, against Neumann University here Saturday.
The match was the first for Rutgers-Camden under new Head Coach
Matt Geiser.

Vincent Flores to capture an 8-6 win at third doubles and added a hard-fought 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 win at fifth singles. Rutgers-Camden also received a win from senior
Vatsal Patel at third singles by a marathon score of 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 10-8. In doubles, the Raptors' second team of sophomores
Matt Deak and
Jose Vargas earned an 8-5 victory.

Adney Cardoza, making his Scarlet Raptor debut, dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision at first singles and joined Patel at first doubles, losing, 8-3.
Deak lost at second singles (6-1, 6-2), Vargas dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision at fourth singles and Flores fell at the sixth flight, 6-3, 6-2.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Saturday, March 16, with a 1 p.m. match at Moravian College.
