WAYNE, N.J. (March 21, 2021) – The Rutgers University-Camden baseball team is still trying to find its stride in the 2021 season, but fortunately for the Scarlet Raptors, their early-season games against conference teams don't count in the New Jersey Athletic Conference standings.
With the NJAC schedule starting on April 3, the Raptors are using games against conference opponents as a tune-up, but Sunday's doubleheader at William Paterson University proved to be a tough day for the Scarlet Raptors.
The Pioneers ripped 13 hits in the opener and 10 in the nightcap as they swept Rutgers-Camden, 11-3 and 7-5. Paterson improves to 6-1, stretching its winning streak to five games. Rutgers-Camden falls to 0-3.
The Scarlet Raptors play another non-conference game at William Paterson University Friday at 3:30 p.m.
