BETHLEHEM, Penn. (Oct. 8, 2022) – Rutgers University-Camden junior
Sarah Ahrens continued her perfect season at first singles, but her win was all the Scarlet Raptors managed as they fell to Moravian University, 8-1, in women's tennis here Saturday.
Moravian improves to 5-0, while Rutgers-Camden falls to 1-3.
Ahrens won her match at first singles, 6-4, 6-3 to hike her season record to 4-0 at the top spot. At second singles, junior
Samantha Hoban dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision, while freshman
Katie Moore was defeated 6-2, 6-3 at third singles. Senior
Laurel DiStefano lost at fourth singles, 6-4, 6-1, and freshman
Ashton Sirko was defeated at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-1.
Rutgers-Camden, which had only five players for the match, forfeited at sixth singles and third doubles.
In doubles play, Ahrens and Hoban lost, 8-4, in the top spot. Moore and Sirko were defeated at second doubles, 8-3.
The Scarlet Raptors close the fall portion of their schedule Saturday, Oct. 15, when they entertain York College of Pennsylvania at 12 p.m.
