NEW YORK, N.Y. (Nov. 12, 2022) – The John Jay College of Criminal Justice women's basketball team placed four players in double figures and broke open a tie game with a 10-point run late in the second quarter as it defeated Rutgers University-Camden, 85-75, in a non-conference game here Saturday.

The Bloodhounds' balanced attack spoiled an outstanding game from Scarlet Raptor senior guard/forward Jalissa Pitts, who notched a career-high 36 points to hike her career total to 701. Her previous high of 32 came against Ramapo College on Feb. 16, 2022.

The Scarlet Raptors managed to close within four points twice in the third quarter at 51-47 and 56-52, but the Bloodhounds led, 68-58, entering the final quarter.

Trailing, 76-59, early in the fourth quarter, Rutgers-Camden went on an eight-point run behind the scoring of Jalissa Pitts and senior guard/forward Rahzirah Blocker, cutting the gap to 76-67. That was the closest the Raptors came down the stretch.
