CAMDEN, N.J. (Nov. 9, 2022) – Drew University's Landmark Conference First Team guard Joey Meyers opened her senior season with 24 points and 10 rebounds as the Rangers defeated Rutgers University-Camden, 85-44, in a non-conference women's basketball game here Wednesday.
It was the first game for the Scarlet Raptors under Head Coach
James Boney and Rutgers-Camden had a tough start, falling behind 48-18 by halftime, with Meyers producing 21 points and seven rebounds in the opening 20 minutes. The Rangers stretched their lead to 43 points, 83-40, near the end of the game.
In addition to Meyers, senior guard/forward Katrina Wojtowicz scored 11 points and freshman guard Madelyn Morgan added 10 for Drew, which placed 12 players in the scoring column.

Abigail Sampona both notched six points for the Scarlet Raptors, while Sampona and freshman guard
Deja Briggs dished out two assists apiece. Sampona also added five rebounds.
Drew shot 38-for-72 from the floor (52.8 percent) in the game, while Rutgers-Camden shot 18-for-57 (31.6). The Rangers held a 47-31 advantage off the boards.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Saturday with a 12 p.m. non-conference game in New York City against John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
