GLENSIDE, Penn. (Dec. 14, 2022) – The Arcadia University women's basketball team outscored Rutgers University-Camden, 23-5, in the opening quarter and went on to defeat the Scarlet Raptors, 65-47, in a non-conference game here Wednesday night.
Arcadia improves to 9-3, while Rutgers-Camden falls to 1-10.
Freshman guard Hanna Rhoades scored 12 points in the opening quarter for the Knights on 4-for-9 shooting from three-point range. She finished the game with 14 points in 22 minutes, while junior guard Scarlett Glasser-Nehls paced the winners with 20 points.
Arcadia finished with eight players in the scoring column and dominated the boards with a 51-34 advantage. Freshman guard/forward Delaney Bell hauled down 17 rebounds for the Knights, while sophomore guard/forward Mara Weaver added 10.
The Knights led, 36-23, at halftime before the Scarlet Raptors went on a 13-5 run in the third quarter to cut their deficit to 41-36.

Abigail Sampona, cutting the gap to 41-38, but Arcadia responded with a 19-2 run to put the game away.

Jalissa Pitts led the Scarlet Raptors with 19 points and seven rebounds, while senior guard/forward
Rahzirah Blocker added 11 points and five boards. Junior forward
Carleigh Galasso chipped in with five points, five rebounds and the Raptors' lone blocked shot.
Arcadia shot 22-for-65 (33.8 percent) from the floor, including 11-for-40 (27.5) from three-point range. Rutgers-Camden went 16-for-55 (29.1) and 3-for-9 (33.3), respectively.
The Scarlet Raptors won't return to action until after the holiday break. They play a 2 p.m. non-conference game at City College of New York on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
