CAMDEN, N.J. (Dec. 7, 2022) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's basketball team committed 37 turnovers here Wednesday night as it lost a New Jersey Athletic Conference game against Rowan University, 82-53.
Rowan improved to 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the NJAC, while Rutgers-Camden fell to 1-8 and 0-4. The Profs have won their last seven games against Rutgers-Camden and lead the all-time series, 59-17.

Rahzirah Blocker, the Raptors saw Rowan scored the next seven points to take the lead at 10-5. The Profs led, 13-11, after one quarter, but the Scarlet Raptors scored the first five points of the second half on a layup by Blocker and a three-pointer by senior guard/forward

Rowan scored the next four points, but a foul shot by freshman forward
Catherine Albizu tied the game at 17-17 before the Profs took the lead for good on a jumper by grad student guard Grace Marshall.
Rowan held a 29-26 halftime lead before opening up the game in the second half, outscoring Rutgers-Camden, 53-27.
Junior guard Nicole Mallard paced the Profs with 15 points, while Marshall netted 14, sophomore guard Kate Herlihy canned 11 and senior forward Dakota Adams added 10. Senior forward Ayanna Johnson grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to help the Profs control the boards, 44-33.
Mallard and sophomore guard Reagan Russo both added a game-high four steals and junior guard/forward Eliana Santana had three assists and three steals.
Rutgers-Camden received 17 points and seven rebounds from Blocker, while
Jalissa Pitts netted 12 points and added five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Junior forward
Carleigh Galasso canned nine points and had five rebounds, two blocks and two steals, while junior guard
Jania Pitts scored eight.
Rowan shot only 34-for-83 (41.0 percent) for the game but went 23-for45 (51.1) in the second half. Rutgers-Camden shot 17-for-41 (41.5) overall but had 11 fewer rebounds and 20 more turnovers.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday, hosting Rutgers-Newark in a 1 p.m. NJAC game.
