CAMDEN, N.J. (Sept. 17, 2022) – The Bryn Mawr women's tennis team swept all three doubles matches to take a commanding lead and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 7-2, in the Scarlet Raptors' home opener here Saturday.
 
Rutgers-Camden falls to 0-2, while Bryn Mawr is 1-0 with its season-opening win.
 
The Raptors notched only singles wins from junior 
Sarah Ahrens and senor 
Laurel DiStefano. Ahrens, who is 2-0 in singles on the young season, earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory at first singles. DiStefano posted a 6-3, 6-4 win at fourth singles.
 
The Raptors' junior 
Samantha Hoban dropped a tough 7-5, 4-6, 6-10 decision at second singles, freshman 
Katie Moore lost 0-6, 0-6 at third singles, freshman 
Ashton Sirko lost 0-6, 4-6 at fifth singles and senior
 Halle Derry lost 0-6, 0-6 at the sixth flight.
 
In the match-opening doubles competition, Ahrens and Moore lost at the top spot (5-8), Hoban and DiStefano fell at second doubles (3-8) and Sirko and Derry were defeated at third doubles (2-8).
 
The Scarlet Raptors are idle until September 30, when they entertain Cairn University at 3 p.m.
