JERSEY CITY, N.J. (April 7, 2023) – The New Jersey City University women's tennis team swept past Rutgers University-Camden, 9-0, in a rescheduled New Jersey Athletic Conference match here Friday.
The match, postponed on its originally-scheduled day of March 25 due to weather, dropped the Scarlet Raptors to 2-6 overall and 0-2 in the NJAC. The Gothic Knights improved to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in the NJAC.

Samantha Hoban came the closest to taking a set with a 6-2, 7-6 (6-4) loss at second singles, while junior
Alyna Cabrera lost her sixth singles match, 6-4, 6-1. Junior
Sarah Ahrens dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision at first singles, freshman
Katie Moore lost 6-2, 6-0 at third singles, senior
Laurel DiStefano was defeated, 6-1, 6-1 at fourth singles and freshman
Ashton Sirko dropped her fifth singles match, 6-0, 6-0.
The first doubles team of Ahrens and DiStefano lost, 8-3. Both the second doubles team of Hoban and Moore, and the third doubles team of Sirko and Cabrera, were defeated, 8-0.
The Scarlet Raptors host Salisbury University in a non-conference match Saturday at 1 p.m.
