BRYN MAWR, Penn. (Sept. 22, 2023) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team had to scramble its lineup when an injury happened in first doubles, forcing the Scarlet Raptors to drop that match by retirement, move up its lineup and leave the sixth singles match unplayed.
 
With all the changes, the Scarlet Raptors ended up being swept by Bryn Mawr College, 9-0, here Friday to fall to 1-1 on the young season.
 
Bryn Mawr improved to 3-0.
 
The Owls posted 8-0 wins at both second and third doubles, with sophomores 
Ashton Sirko and 
Jayde Sue Silva in the second spot and freshmen 
Alyssa Peacock and 
Nicoletta Troilo playing in the third spot.
 
At first singles, sophomore 
Katie Moore dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision. Sirko lost, 6-0, 6-0, at second singles and Silva was defeated at the third flight, 6-1, 6-0. Peacock was defeated at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-1, and Troilo lost at fifth singles, 6-1, 6-0.
 
Both the Rutgers-Camden women and men were supposed to play at York College of Pennsylvania Sunday, but those matches already have been postponed until Oct. 15. The next women's match will be Friday, Oct. 29, at 4 p.m., on the road at SUNY-Oneonta.
