EWING, N.J. (Dec. 11, 2024) – The College of New Jersey women's basketball team remained unbeaten in the New Jersey Athletic Conference as it defeated Rutgers University-Camden, 71-45, in a NJAC game here Wednesday night.
TCNJ improved to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the NJAC, while Rutgers-Camden fell to 5-4 and 2-2.
Rutgers-Camden has lost 15 straight games against TCNJ in the all-time series, which the Lions lead, 69-12. The last Scarlet Raptor win was a 69-40 victory in Camden on Jan. 18, 2017.
The game was tied twice in the first quarter at 2-2 and 4-4 and the Scarlet Raptors took their first lead at 7-6 on a trey by freshman guard

Na'Caia Jackson tacked on a pair of foul shots to give Rutgers-Camden its largest lead, 9-6, before the Lions tied the game on a three-point field goal by sophomore guard Grace Kowalski. TCNJ took the lead for good moments later on a jumper by Kowalski and led, 16-13, after one quarter.
By halftime, the Lions held a 34-20 lead, led by 11 points from junior guard Katie Fricker. Junior guard Myah Hourigan-Hutton scored eight first-half points for TCNJ, while Kowalski added seven. Jackson and senior guard
Rahzirah Blocker led the Raptors with seven and six points, respectively, in the opening half. Blocker also had six rebounds.
The Lions led, 49-35, after three quarters.
Kowalski led the Lions with 23 points, while Fricker added 17. Freshman guard Brooke McFadden notched 16 rebounds for TCNJ.
Blocker paced the Scarlet Raptors with 13 points and six rebounds. Her scoring output raised her career point total to 1,184, only nine points shy of catching Michelle Obasi (2014-18) for 10th place on the program's all-time list.

Taylor Hinson added eight.
The Lions shot 27-for-66 from the floor (40.9 percent), while the Scarlet Raptors went 17-for-52 (32.7). TCNJ shot 9-for-11 from the foul line (81.8) and Rutgers-Camden went 10-for-14 (71.4).
The Lions held a 42-33 advantage off the boards.
The Scarlet Raptors play their final game before the holiday break on Saturday when they host Montclair State University in a 3 p.m. contest.
