ALLENTOWN, Penn. (March 29, 2024) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team won its second match in three spring outings here Friday as it defeated Cedar Crest College, 8-1.
The Scarlet Raptors improved to 3-2 overall, counting the fall semester. Cedar Crest fell to 0-7.
Rutgers-Camden swept all three doubles matches, led by sophomore co-captains
Katie Moore and
Ashton Sirko, who won, 8-1, in the top doubles spot. Freshmen
Alyssa Peacock and
Nicoletta Troilo posted an 8-4 win at second doubles and freshman
Bella Martinez teamed with junior
Jayde Sue Silva for an 8-4 win at third doubles.
Moore and Silva both won 6-0, 6-0 at first and fourth singles, respectively. Sirko earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at second singles, Martinez posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the third flight and Troilo posted an 8-0 win at sixth singles.
Peacock dropped a close decision at fifth singles, 3-6, 6-3, 4-10.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Saturday, playing an 11 a.m. road match at Arcadia University.
