GLENSIDE, Penn. (March 30, 2024) – Junior
Jayde Sue Silva won her match at fourth singles (8-2) and teamed with freshman
Bella Martinez for an 8-6 win at third doubles, but the Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team lost at Arcadia University, 6-3, here Saturday.
The Scarlet Raptors fell to 3-3 on the season, while the Knights improved to 3-1.
Rutgers-Camden also received a win at sixth singles from freshman
Nicoletta Troilo by a 6-3 score.
The Raptors lost at first doubles, 8-4, behind the team of sophomore co-captains
Katie Moore and
Ashton Sirko. At second doubles, Troilo and freshman
Alyssa Peacock dropped an 8-1 decision.
Moore was defeated at first singles, 6-1, 2-6, 0-6, while Sirko dropped a match at second singles, 6-7 (2-7), 1-6.
At third singles, Martinez was defeated by a 6-4, 4-6, 0-6 score, while Peacock lost at fifth singles, 6-1.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Monday with a makeup match from a rained out contest on March 23. They will play at Bryn Athyn College at 4 p.m.
