GALLOWAY, N.J. (April 13, 2024) – The Stockton University women's tennis team posted a win in each match as it swept past Rutgers University-Camden, 9-0, here Saturday morning in New Jersey Athletic Conference play.
The Ospreys improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the NJAC, while the Scarlet Raptors fell to 7-6 and 1-2.
The Scarlet Raptors lost first doubles (sophomores
Katie Moore and
Ashton Sirko) and third doubles (freshman
Bella Martinez and junior
Jayde Sue Silva) by 8-4 scores, while the second doubles team of freshmen
Alyssa Peacock and
Nicoletta Troilo were defeated, 8-0.
Moore dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision at first singles, Sirko lost, 6-1, 6-1, at second singles and Silva was defeated, 6-1, 6-0, at third singles. In the fourth spot, Peacock was defeated, 6-0, 6-1, while Martinez lost at the fifth flight, 6-0, 6-2, and Troilo dropped a 6-0, 6-0 match at sixth singles.
The Scarlet Raptors return to NJAC action Wednesday when they host William Paterson University at 4 p.m.
