CAMDEN, N.J. (April 6, 2024) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team won its third straight match and fourth out of the last five as it defeated Notre Dame of Maryland University, 7-2, here Saturday.
The victory lifts the Scarlet Raptors to 6-3, while the Gators fall to 2-3.
Rutgers-Camden started out with winning two of its three doubles matches as sophomore co-captains
Katie Moore and
Ashton Sirko posted an 8-2 win at first doubles and junior
Jayde Sue Silva and freshman
Bella Martina won at third doubles, 8-0.
The Raptors lost, 8-2, at second doubles with the freshman team of
Alyssa Peacock and
Nicoletta Troilo.
Moore won her match at first singles, 6-1, 6-0, and Sirko and Silva both posted 6-2, 6-0 wins at second and third singles, respectively. Martinez won at fifth singles, 6-0, 6-0, and Troilo posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory at sixth singles.
Peacock lost at fourth singles, 6-3, 6-1.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Sunday when they travel to King's College of Pennsylvania for a pair of matches. They will play Elizabethtown College at 9 a.m. and King's College at 12 p.m.
