Dinerman sets 8K program record, qualifies for NCAA Championships
LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Nov. 15, 2025) –Rutgers University-Camden junior
Jacob Dinerman set an 8K program record and earned an automatic qualifier for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships to lead the Scarlet Raptors at the 2025 NCAA Division III Metro Region Men's and Women's Cross Country Championship here Saturday.
The men's 8K and women's 6K races were held at the Gloucester County Dream Park in Logan Township.
Dinerman's time of 24:43.4 broke the Rutgers-Camden mark of 24:46.08 set by Travis Stewart at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships on Nov. 1, 2008. Dinerman, who finished fourth out of 181 runners, now owns three of the top six 8K times in program history, including the program record.
Dinerman will compete in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship on Nov. 22 in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
The men's 8K run was won by Brandon Chen of The College New Jersey (24:25.3), who led the Lions to the team championship with 56 points, 20 ahead of second-place Swarthmore. Rutgers-Camden finished 18th (536 points) out of 26 teams.
In the women's 6K race, Swarthmore College finished first of 25 scoring teams with 71 points, while Moravian's Tara Smurla won a close race with a time of 21:11.4, barely edging Widener's Kathryn Long (21:12.4). There were 194 women competing.
Rutgers-Camden ran only three runners in the 6K race, so the Scarlet Raptors didn't post a team score, but all three runners set their 6K personal record. Freshman

The Rutgers-Camden men ran seven athletes, with the top five all recording an 8K personal record. In addition to Dinerman, freshman
Jack Wessner finished 117th (29:12.6), freshman
Dylan Davies placed 124th (29:50.9), freshman
Joseph Simone finished 141st (31:26.3) and junior
