Sophia LaPorta, the Scarlet Raptors set two program records, earned one of their biggest comebacks of the year and capped their fall season and Senior Day with a three-match winning streak.
Rutgers-Camden swept Medgar Evers College, 3-0 (25-2, 25-4 and 25-5) before rallying from two sets down to outlast St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn, 3-2 (15-25, 17-25, 27-25, 25-22 and 15-8) in its final two matches of the season here Sunday.
In the opening match of the day, Rutgers-Camden set a three-set program record with 32 service aces on its way to a quick sweep over Medgar Evers College. In its final match against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn, the Raptors stormed back to capture a thrilling season-ending win in their 13th five-set match of the year, setting a five-set program mark with 205 total attacks along the way. The Raptors were 5-8 in those 13 five-setters, but on four occasions rallied from 0-2 deficits for the win.
Rutgers-Camden closed its season with a 12-18 record.
In Sunday's other match, St. Joseph's-Brooklyn (11-11) swept past Medgar Evers (0-18), 25-9, 25-3 and 25-11.

The Scarlet Raptors scored the first 20 points of the opening set on their way to a 25-2 victory and the three-set sweep.
Ang had eight service aces in the opening set alone, while adding six assists. Freshman outside hitter
Asha Pensa Johnson added five kills and junior defensive specialist
Madison Snelgrove added three aces in the first set.
In the second set, the Cougars held a brief 2-1 lead before the Scarlet Raptors rolled off the next 18 points on their way to a 25-4 win.
Medgar Evers scored the first point in the third set, but Rutgers-Camden rolled off the next 20 points on its way to the 25-5 sweep.
The Scarlet Raptors set a program team record for a three-set match with 32 service aces, passing the old mark of 27 against Penn State-Abington on Sept. 10, 2010. Leading the way were Ang and sophomore middle blocker

Ella Carmen Truitt both added five aces.
Rutgers-Camden also notched a .526 hitting percentage, the fourth-highest single-match mark in program history, by making 23 kills and only three errors in 38 attempts.
Pensa Johnson finished with eight kills, while Ang added 16 assists.

The Bears captured the opening two sets before Rutgers-Camden fought back in the third set from deficits of 17-12 and 19-16 to tie the set at 22-22. The Scarlet Raptors moved ahead at 24-22, watched St. Joseph's tie the score at 24-24 and swapped the 25th points with the Bears. The Raptors won the final two points of the 27-25 marathon on kills by Granieri and Ang.
In the tight fourth set, Rutgers-Camden pulled out a 25-22 win, earning the final two points on kills by Gbolahan and Pensa Johnson. In the decisive fifth set, Rutgers-Camden raced to a 4-0 lead and won, 15-8, with the last two points coming on a kill by Ang and a St. Joseph's attack error.
The Raptors' 205 total attacks broke the previous five-set mark of 203, set against Washington College earlier this season on Sept. 20.
Pensa Johnson collected 17 kills, while Granieri had 13 and both Gbolahan and Ang added 12. For assists, Ang had 27 and junior setter
JoAnna Andrews notched 26. Gbolahan, Pensa Johnson and freshman middle blocker
Jana Jovanovic notched four blocks apiece, while junior libero
Mia Owens had a team-leading 23 digs. Ang added 16 digs to close her brilliant Raptor career with her third triple-double of the season, while Snelgrove notched 15 digs and Andrews completed a double-double with 11 digs.
