CAMDEN, N.J. (April 10, 2025) – The nationally-ranked Rowan University baseball team collected 15 hits and 11 runs here Thursday as it defeated Rutgers University-Camden, 11-2, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game.
Rowan, ranked 20th in both the D3baseball.com Top 25 poll and the ABCA Division III Top 30 polls this week, improves to 18-7 overall and 4-3 in the NJAC. Rutgers-Camden falls to 18-9 overall and 3-4 in NJAC play.
The Profs scored a pair of runs in the second inning on three hits, including an RBI double by senior catcher Karson Harcourt. Graduate first baseman Tyler Cannon added a sacrifice fly.
The Profs struck for four more runs in the fourth inning aided by a two-run single from sophomore third baseman Brayden Davis, before the Scarlet Raptors got on the scoreboard. Singles by senior third baseman

Rowan broke the game open with five runs over the seventh and eighth innings before Rutgers-Camden scored its final run in the bottom of the eighth on a leadoff home run by senior center fielder
Steven Shaffer.
Shaffer, Joseph and Petrick both went 2-for-4 for Rutgers-Camden. Rowan received three hits apiece from freshman designated hitter Damon Suriani and sophomore second baseman Joey Bogart. Cannon and Harcourt both had two hits and three RBIs.
Senior Zach Coluccio (4-0) worked seven innings to earn the win, allowing seven hits and one earned run. He struck out eight.

John Ormsby IV took the loss, working four innings and allowing eight hits, two walks and six earned runs.
The Scarlet Raptors were scheduled to play at Rowan on Friday, but the game has been postponed due to field conditions. It will be played on Monday at a time to be determined. Prior to that game, the Scarlet Raptors will play a conference doubleheader Saturday at Rutgers-Newark, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
