CAMDEN, N.J. (Sept. 12, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team opened its dual match season here Friday with an impressive 7-0 victory over Penn State-Brandywine.
The Raptors swept all seven matches they played on the court and won forfeits at third doubles and sixth singles when the Nittany Lions couldn't field an opponent.
The match was highlighted by a win at first singles from freshman
Gabby Albert, who rallied to outlast the Nittany Lions' top player, Samma Zahran, 3-6, 6-4, 10-8.
In the second spot, sophomore
Jilliane Jaugan posted a 6-0, 6-0 win, while sophomore
Grace Albert won, 6-0, 6-2, at third singles, freshman
Bella Albert captured a 6-0, 6-1 win at fourth singles and senior
Katie Moore won a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at fifth singles. Freshman
Leila O'Brien won by forfeit at sixth singles.
Twin sisters Gabby and
Bella Albert won first doubles, 6-1, while Jaugan and
Grace Albert captured second doubles by a score of 6-0. Moore and O'Brien won by forfeit at third doubles.
The women return to action Friday with a 3:30 p.m. match at Cairn University.
