			WILKES-BARRE, Penn. (Sept. 7, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team opened its season in a rain-delayed King's College Invitational here over the weekend and the Scarlet Raptors came away with a pair of champions in their flights, two other finalists and several semifinalists.
The invitational, which was scheduled to start on Saturday, barely got underway on the opening day before rain washed out play, forcing practically all action to be held on Sunday.
 
Raptor freshman 
Leila O'Brien won the Flight 6 Singles title and she teamed with senior co-captain 
Katie Moore to capture the Flight 3 Doubles championship.
 
Sophomore 
Grace Albert reached the Flight 3 Singles final and the pair of senior co-captain 
Ashton Sirko and junior 
Alyssa Peacock advanced to the Flight 4 Doubles final.
 
The Scarlet Raptors also had four singles players reach the semifinals, including sophomore 
Jilliane Jaugan (Flight 2), freshman 
Bella Albert (Flight 4), Moore (Flight 5) and Sirko (Flight 7).
 
O'Brien's march to the Flight 6 singles title included wins over Misericordia (6-1, 6-0), Lebanon Valley (8-4), Scranton (6-0, 3-6, 10-8) and a title-clinching 6-3, 6-4 victory against Wilkes. In third doubles, O'Brien and Moore posted wins over Wilkes (6-3) and Lebanon Valley (6-0) before beating Scranton, 6-3, in the final.
 
Grace Albert's march to the Flight 3 Singles final included a walkover win (due to illness) against Penn College and a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Elizabethtown before dropping a 6-1, 6-2 final against Scranton.
 
In the Flight 4 Doubles competition, Sirko and Peacock beat Misericordia (6-1) and Wilkes (6-0) before losing in the finals against Scranton (6-2).
 
Three singles players lost to the eventual champion in the semifinals. In the Flight 4 Singles, freshman 
Bella Albert beat Penn College (6-0, 6-0) and Arcadia (8-0) before losing to the eventual champion from Lebanon Valley in a tight semifinal match (3-6, 6-4, 6-10). Moore lost to the eventual champion Lebanon Valley in a close Flight 5 Singles semifinal (1-6, 6-1, 8-10) after winning her opening match against Misericordia (8-2). Siko, meanwhile, also lost to eventual champion Lebanon Valley in a semifinal (3-6, 1-6) after posting wins over Elizabethtown (6-3, 6-3) and Arcadia (8-1).
 
In the Flight 2 Singles, Jaugan posted a 6-1, 6-2 win over Misericordia before losing in the semifinals against Lebanon Valley (3-8), and in Flight 1 Singles, freshman 
Gabby Albert dropped her first match against Wilkes (8-0), which went on to win the championship.
 
In the Flight 1 Doubles competition, twin sisters 
Gabby Albert and 
Bella Albert lost their opening match against Scranton, 6-3, while in the Flight 2 Doubles play, Jaugan and 
Grace Albert posted a 6-3 win over Elizabethtown before losing against Scranton, 6-2..
 
The women open their dual match season on Friday when they host Penn State-Brandywine at 3:30 p.m.
