JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Jan. 14, 2026) – The New Jersey City University men's basketball team placed four players in double figures, including a double-double by junior forward/center Donovan Crawford, as it defeated Rutgers University-Camden, 81-57, here Wednesday night in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game.
NJCU improved to 11-4 overall and 7-1 in the NJAC. Rutgers-Camden fell to 7-7 overall and 2-6 in conference play.
The victory was NJCU's eighth straight against Rutgers-Camden, giving the Gothic Knights a 77-6 lead in the all-time series.
Rutgers-Camden took an early 8-4 lead, aided by five points from senior guard
Eric Benjamin. The Gothic Knights scored the next seven points, taking the lead for good at 9-8 on a layup by senior guard Bakhi Rogers-Robinson. Leading, 13-11, the Gothic Knights scored the next 14 points to open up a double-digit lead at 27-11.
By halftime, NJCU held a 38-24 lead behind 13 points from Rogers-Robinson, who led eight players in the scoring column. Rutgers-Camden received six first-half points from junior guard
Caleb Edwards.
Rogers-Robinson finished with 15 points for the Gothic Knights, while Crawford's double-double included 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Senior forward Arterio Williams netted 12 points and freshman guard Mekhi Philogene added 10.

Cameron Downs led Rutgers-Camden with 12 points, while Edwards and sophomore guard
Ryan Senft both finished with six points. Edwards added a game-high three blocked shots and Senft led the team with three steals.
NJCU held a 42-29 advantage off the boards and shot 27-for-63 (42.9 percent) from the floor and 27-for-33 (81.8) from the foul line. Rutgers-Camden shot 14-for-41 (34.1) from the floor, 26-for-38 (68.4) from the foul line and made 25 turnovers, compared to 18 for the Gothic Knights.
Rutgers-Camden returns to NJAC action on Saturday with a 3 p.m. home game against William Paterson University.
