Moore passes career 70-win mark as Raptors sweep NJAC opener

WAYNE, N.J. (April 10, 2026) – Rutgers University-Camden was the last women's tennis team to open its New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule this spring, but the long wait didn't faze the Scarlet Raptors.

Senior Katie Moore earned wins in both singles and doubles to become only the second Rutgers-Camden player to pass 70 career victories, helping the Scarlet Raptors sweep past William Paterson University, 7-0.

The win lifts the Scarlet Raptors' record to 9-3 overall, with eight of those wins coming by 7-0 shutouts.

William Paterson falls to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in NJAC play. The Raptors have won their last nine matches against the Pioneers, starting in 2017.

Rutgers-Camden won all three doubles matches to take the one point given for doubles play. At first doubles, freshman sisters Gabby Albert and Bella Albert posted a 6-1 victory. At second doubles, sophomore Jilliane Jaugan and sophomore Grace Albert won, 6-2, for their record 16th victory as a doubles team. They had been tied at 15 doubles wins with LeAnne Hall and Morgan Dempsey (2018-22).

At third doubles, Moore and freshman Leila O'Brien earned a 6-0 win. It was Moore's 37th career doubles victory, extending her program record.

Gabby Albert won her match at first singles, 6-1, 6-1, while Jaugan captured a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles. Grace Albert won at third singles, 6-0, 6-2 and Bella Albert swept her fourth singles match, 6-0, 6-0. Moore posted her 34th career singles win at the fifth spot, 6-2, 6-0, to move alone into second place on the program career list for singles victories. She had been tied at 33 wins with Tiffany Trivers (2018-22).

O'Brien wrapped up the singles sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the sixth flight.

Moore's two wins gave her 71 for her career, second only to the all-time mark of 78 by Amanda Hickman (2012-16).

The Scarlet Raptors return to NJAC play on Saturday with an 11 a.m. match at Stockton University.
