GALLOWAY, N.J. (April 11, 2026) – The Stockton University women's tennis team has been a roadblock for Rutgers University-Camden for years, but the Scarlet Raptors finally broke through against their New Jersey Athletic Conference rivals here Saturday.
Rutgers-Camden defeated Stockton, 6-1, for only its second NJAC win over the Ospreys ever as the Scarlet Raptors raised their record to 10-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Stockton falls to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the NJAC.
Rutgers-Camden is now 3-15 against Stockton since the Raptors restarted their tennis program in 2011, but one of those wins was a 4-3 victory in October 2024, that didn't count for the NJAC schedule. Before Saturday, the only NJAC win the Raptors had against the Ospreys was a 5-4 victory on September 1, 2018.
Stockton, which fielded only four players on Saturday, wasn't able to compete at third doubles and both fifth and sixth singles. Senior
Katie Moore and freshman
Leila O'Brien won by forfeit at those spots.
Rutgers-Camden won at first doubles, 6-0, with the team of freshman sisters
Bella Albert and
Gabby Albert. At second doubles, sophomores
Grace Albert and
Jilliane Jaugan combined for a 6-2 victory as Rutgers-Camden earned the one point awarded for doubles.
Gabby Albert captured a 6-3, 6-0 win at first singles, while
Grace Albert won at third singles, 6-1 and 6-0.
Bella Albert swept her Stockton opponent at fourth single, 6-0, 6-0. The lone Stockton win came at second singles, where Jaugan lost a narrow 6-2, 3-6, 9-11 decision.
The Scarlet Raptors return to NJAC play on Friday with a 4:30 p.m. match at Kean University.
