UNION, N.J. (April 17, 2026) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team remained undefeated in the New Jersey Athletic Conference and guaranteed itself a playoff seeding of no worse than second as it defeated Kean University, 5-2, here Friday afternoon.
For the time being, the win moved the Scarlet Raptors into first place in the NJAC with a 3-0 conference record, although Rutgers-Camden's last match before the playoffs comes Saturday morning when it plays at perennial NJAC champion The College of New Jersey, which has never lost a conference match.
Rutgers-Camden, 11-3 overall, is 3-0 in NJAC play, while TCNJ is 2-0 and plays its final two conference matches Saturday. The Lions host Rutgers-Camden at 10:30 a.m. and play Stockton University immediately afterward.
Kean fell to 7-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play as will be the third seed in the NJAC playoffs, which begin with semifinal matchups on Wednesday. Rutgers-Camden has won eight straight matches against Kean, dating back to 2018, and may well face the Cougars in the NJAC semifinals.

Ashton Sirko combined for a 6-2 victory at second doubles, while senior co-captain

Leila O'Brien for a 6-3 win at third doubles.
Gabby Albert lost her match at first singles, 0-6, 0-6, but Jaugan won at second singles, 6-0, 6-1 and
Bella Albert posted a 6-3, 6-0 win at the third flight. Sirko dropped a marathon match at fourth singles, 5-7, 6-0, 4-7 but both Moore and O'Brien won their singles matches. Moore won, 6-2, 6-0, at fifth singles and O'Brien captured a 6-4, 6-1 win at the sixth spot.
