CAMDEN, N.J. – Richard Stockton College junior forward
Josh Blamon (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) scored 25 of his game-high 26 points in the first half to power the Richard Stockton College men's basketball team to a 74-60 victory over Rutgers University-Camden in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Wednesday night.
Blamon shot 7-for-10 from the floor, including 3-for-5 from three-point range, and hit all eight of his foul shots in the opening 20 minutes as the Ospreys won their fourth straight game.
Stockton, which is tied for first place in the NJAC with Rutgers-Newark, improves to 19-4 overall and 13-3 in the NJAC. Rutgers-Camden falls to 4-19 overall and 2-14 in the conference.
Richard Stockton has won 58 of its last 59 games against Rutgers-Camden, including the last 12, and leads the all-time series, 65-8.
The Ospreys never trailed in the game, scoring the first five points and opening up leads as big as 18 points in the first half (36-18 and 38-20). They led, 38-21, at the break, but the Scarlet Raptors made things interesting midway through the second half, cutting their deficit to nine points on a pair of occasions (45-36 and 47-38). Rutgers-Camden's 17-9 run to start the second half was led by sophomore guard/forward
John Tatem (Camden, NJ/Pennsauken Tech), who scored 10 of those 17 points, and notched 16 of his 20 points overall and in the second half.
Stockton recovered and went on a 23-15 run to build its biggest lead of the second half (70-53) before settling for a 14-point victory.
Blamon finished with 26 points, while senior forward
Nnamdi Usuwa (Avenel, NJ/Colonia) added a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard
Kevin Johnson (Paulsboro, NJ/Paulsboro), meanwhile, added 13 points, seven rebounds, a game-high six assists and tied for game-high honors with three steals.

Rich Suhr (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) chipped in with nine points for the Ospreys.
Rutgers-Camden received 22 points and 10 rebounds from junior guard/forward
Teon Russell (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson), who notched his 10th double-double of the season. He also added four assists and three steals.
Tatem finished with 20 points and three steals, while junior guard/forward
Alex Smart (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek) added 12 points, seven boards and three assists.
Senior forward
Robert Anders collected six points and six rebounds, hiking his career scoring output to 802 points. He had 580 points during his two seasons at Gloucester County College.
Stockton shot 24-for-55 (43.6 percent) from the floor, including 7-for-17 (41.2) from three-point range. Rutgers-Camden shot 22-for-52 (42.3) from the floor and only 1-for-6 (16.7) from three-point range.
Stockton held a 38-30 advantage off the boards.
The two teams return to NJAC action Saturday at 3 p.m. Richard Stockton entertains Ramapo College, while Rutgers-Camden visits William Paterson University.
