Women's Volleyball falls to 1-3 at DeSales University Invitational

CENTER VALLEY, PA - Rutgers-Camden traveled to Center Valley, Pennsylvania this weekend to compete in the DeSales University Invitational.  The Scarlet Raptors started day two with a loss to Albright College. The final game of the Desales University Invitational was against University of Mary Washington.   The Eagles beat the Scarlet Raptors 3-0.

Rutgers-Camden opened against Albright College on Saturday at 10:00am.  The Scarlet Raptors lost to the Lions 3-1 (19-25, 25-19, 25-20, and 25-21). 

Freshman Lauren Pace had a team high 10 kills. Olivia Rowland notched 9 kills and 2 solo blocks.

Setter Nancy Brown recorded 17 assists, 15 digs, and 5 service aces, while sophomore Caitlin Marchlowitz had a career high with 25 digs. Marchlowitz's previous record was 18 digs set back on October 19, 2013 against Elmira College.

The Scarlet Raptors second game of the day was against University of Mary Washington. The Eagles beat Rutgers-Camden 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, and 25-11).

Nancy Brown notched 6 assists, 2 kills and a dig. Defensive Specialist Caitlin Marchlowitz had 11 digs. Freshman Erin Thompson recorded 3 assists and 3 digs.

Olivia Rowland notched 9 kills and 2 solo blocks. Rowland was named to the DeSales University Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Rutgers-Camden (1-3, NJAC 0-0) will travel to Muhlenberg College on Friday, September 5th to compete in the Buttermaker Tournament.  The Scarlet Raptors are scheduled for a 5:00pm match against FDU-Florham and a 7:00pm match against Muhlenberg College on Friday, September 5th.
