Box Score SALISBURY, Maryland (Sept. 6, 2015) – After lighting up the scoreboard in through it first two games of the season, the Rutgers University-Camden men's soccer team saw its high-powered offense shut down Sunday in the championship game of the Elmer Lord Soccer Classic.

Assistant AD Dawn ChamberlainHost Salisbury University scored the lone goal of the game late in the first half and went on to defeat the Scarlet Raptors, 1-0, in a battle of two teams who both received votes in the NSCAA Division III Pre-Season Top 25 poll.
Salisbury improves to 3-0. Rutgers-Camden, which had scored 11 goals in winning its first two games, falls to 2-1.

Drew Staedeli (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) helped his team retain the one-goal lead with 24:30 remaining in the game, making a fine save off a free kick by Raptor senior midfielder
Connor Hurff (Sewell, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) and then saving a shot off the rebound near the left post. He made several other strong saves, including a catch of a loose ball in the box in the final seconds, to nail down his first shutout of the season. Staedeli finished with six saves overall.

James Brett (Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra) made two fine saves early in the first half when the game was still scoreless, and added another in the second half. He also finished the day with six saves.
Rutgers-Camden held a 17-13 advantage in shots, including a 12-5 margin in the second half. Salisbury had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Rutgers-Camden is idle until next weekend, when it hosts its own Cialella Soccer Classic Saturday and Sunday. Christopher Newport University, the nation's eighth-ranked Division III team in the NSCAA Pre-Season poll, will face New Jersey City University in Saturday's first game aat 2 p.m., followed by Rutgers-Camden against Manhattanville College at 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, Manhattanville and NJCU play at 2 p.m. and Rutgers-Camden battles Christopher Newport at 4:30 p.m.
