CAMDEN, New Jersey (Oct. 10, 2017) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's volleyball team was outlasted by Stockton University here tonight at Rutgers-Camden Athletic and Fitness Center, as the Ospreys took down the Scarlet Raptors in 3 straight sets.
With the loss, Rutgers-Camden drops to 10-11 on the season, and 3-3 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play. Stockton raises their record to 14-7 on the year and 4-2 in the NJAC.
The Ospreys attack was too much to handle for Rutgers-Camden, as they posted scores of 25-15, 25-17, and 25-14 in 3 sets.
Senior
Cortnee Wilkerson (Los Angeles, CA, West Adams Prep) led the Scarlet Raptors attack with 8 kills, as sophomore
Jordan Erskine (Barnegat, NJ, Barnegat) also provided 8, and sophomore
Jamie Mulligan (New Gretna, NJ, Pinelands Regional) contributed 5.
Wilkerson also added 1 ace on the night, along with an ace each from both freshman
Alyson Lowe (Havertown, PA, Haverford) and junior
Myiah Gatling (Woolwich Township, NJ, Kingsway Regional).
Sophomore
Caitlynn Marcano (Williamstown, NJ, Williamstown) led Rutgers-Camden in assists with 12, and
Lowe contributed 9. Sophomore
Natalie DiGiacomo (Williamstown, NJ, Williamstown) added 4 assists on the night.
DiGiacomo and
J. Mulligan each provided a team-high 8 digs in the loss.
Marcano added 5 digs for the Scarlet Raptors.
Rutgers-Camden returns to non-conference action this Friday night, as they host Gwynedd-Mercy. First serve is set for 7pm.
