GLASSBORO, N.J. (Nov. 29, 2017) – The Rowan University men's basketball team went on a 13-2 run midway through the first half to break open a tie game, continued to outscore Rutgers University-Camden, 34-17, the rest of the half and went on to post a 93-68 victory in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Wednesday night.
Rowan, which has won four straight games, improves to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the NJAC. The Profs have won their last four games against Rutgers-Camden and lead, 93-32, in the all-time series.
Rutgers-Camden falls to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the NJAC.
After the two teams traded the lead six times and were tied on four other occasions to deadlock at 14-14, Rowan took the lead for good on a jumper by junior guard
Nick DePersia (Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial), sparking a 13-2 run that included three treys by the Profs. Rowan shot 8-for-23 from three-point range in the opening half, while Rutgers-Camden went 0-for-9 from beyond the arc. Coupled with the Profs' 33-23 first-half advantage off the boards, Rowan led, 48-31, at halftime. The Scarlet Raptors never came closer than 13 points (on three occasions) the rest of the way.
Freshman guard
Walter Harvey (Woolwich, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) had 12 first-half points for the Profs, including 3-for-4 shooting from three-point range. For Rutgers-Camden, junior forward
Isaac Destin (Woodlynne, NJ/Collingswood) had 13 points in the opening half.
Senior forward
TJ Booth (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) led the Profs with 16 points. Harvey and sophomore forward
Austin Kearney (Monroeville, NJ/Gloucester County Christian) both finished with 12 points, while Nick DePersia and junior guard
Rob DePersia (Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) both added 10.
Rowan held a 53-44 advantage off the boards, led by 11 rebounds from junior guard/forward
Ramon Wright (East Orange, NJ/Irvington) and 10 apiece from Booth and Kearney, who both had double-doubles.
The Profs finished the night shooting 14-for-41 (34.1 percent) from three-point range and 31-for-78 (39.7) overall. Rutgers-Camden shot 26-for-71 overall (36.6), but only 3-for-17 (17.6) from three-point range.

pictured above, finished with 17 points and nine rebounds to lead the Scarlet Raptors in both categories. Senior guards
Vincent Anfield Jr. (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley) and
Marcus Taylor (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) both notched nine points for the Scarlet Raptors, while freshman guard
John Herndon (Philadelphia, PA/West Catholic Prep) added eight.
Junior guard
Anthony Harris (Philadelphia, PA/Philadelphia E&T) led the Raptors with four assists, tying three Profs for game-high honors.
Rutgers-Camden will return to NJAC action on Saturday when it hosts New Jersey City University at 3 p.m.
